1 Fun Way to Reduce Stress, Depression and Anxiety

In this healing series I shared that overall health reflects the balance of your 4 levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. So far we covered forgiveness, the critical importance of greens, and my VITALITY Emotional Care™ Formula. This brings us to the importance of having fun, which critically affects all four levels of your healing.

Fun and play kindles the opposite of stress when it comes to body chemistry.  Laughter helps to stimulate healing and raise vitality, while stress incites damage and destruction. If you or someone you know tends to overwork or be overwhelmed - read further for an important excuse to play.

Science has shown that stress destroys body chemistry through excess adrenaline, high cortisol levels, increased heart rate, and pressure on the endocrine and circulatory systems. Prolonged states of stress drain your energy levels and significantly increase all forms of health risks.

Fun and laughter on a daily basis is exactly what helps counteract damaging stress, plus increases your energy and promotes good health. Having fun increases your levels of “feel good” hormones called endorphins.  Endorphins produce feelings of happiness and overall well being - and the best way to produce them is by laughing.

That’s why they say that ‘laughter is the best medicine’. Studies are showing that laughter can cause chemical changes in the body that have tremendous positive effects on our overall health and well being.

Deciding what to do for fun is unique to everyone. Some love a good comedy (great for laughter), while others prefer to dive into a good mystery. You may enjoy a game of softball for fun, but your friend can’t wait for her next Zumba class.

The most important thing to consider if your body needs to heal, is to include things that are fun and doing them daily as part of your life.
